At the moment, things are really not going smoothly. It is quite hard for me to overcome my inner resistance and get back into my running routine. Especially when daily life is busy and my mind already feels tired after work, it is easy to find excuses why today is not the right day. Tomorrow is always another day. But that quickly turns into many tomorrows.

Today, however, I managed to go for a run again after work. Fresh air, pleasantly cool temperatures, and even a bit of sunshine from time to time – actually perfect conditions to just get outside and start running. No big plan, no pressure, just getting out.

I deliberately slowed down my pace so I could run the route comfortably and without stress. No chasing times or personal bests, just finding my rhythm again. I chose one of my old familiar routes – the “horse loop.” It got its nickname because the shape of the route on the map looks a bit like a horse.

The short run felt really good. My head became clearer, my legs felt lighter, and I was simply happy to be out there again. Today, the inner couch potato lost.
