The next attempt. Sometimes it’s hard to get back into your running rhythm. You know your body can do it, but your mind still holds you back a little. Today, the conditions were perfect. Plenty of sunshine, comfortable temperatures, and a light, fresh breeze. So right after work, I headed out onto my familiar route. No overthinking, just start running. The 10 kilometers were in my mind, but without pressure.
I deliberately slowed down, pace didn’t matter. It was all about getting the feeling for running back. Step by step, meter by meter. And that’s exactly what worked. The run felt easy, almost natural again. No struggle, no forcing it — just movement. I kept a steady rhythm and noticed how it slowly returned. In the end, 10 kilometers were on the watch and a really good feeling.

Actually, I had planned to run for an hour today, maybe even longer. Ten kilometers were the goal. But the weather didn’t make it easy: no sun, cool temperatures, and a cold, uncomfortable wind. Not exactly inviting. Still, I laced up my shoes because the plan was set. After the first kilometer, I could already tell something was off. My legs felt heavy, my breathing was quicker than usual, and every step took more effort than it should.
Before giving up completely, I decided to shorten the run. Better to complete half an hour than skip it entirely. So I slowed down, focused on my rhythm, and kept going. In the end, it was just 30 minutes, but I was still satisfied.
Some days just don’t go as planned. What matters is getting out there. The next run will be better.

Today was my second short run as I work my way back toward joining the 9-kilometer group again. I deliberately started on a flatter section, slightly downhill, just to get my circulation going without putting too much strain on the body. After the break, the goal wasn’t to push, but to ease back into it.
With the weather being so good, that wasn’t difficult. Plenty of sunshine, clear air, and the familiar field paths — exactly the kind of setting that makes getting started easier. The run began calmly, without pressure or expectations.
The last two kilometers became a bit more demanding, with a few hills to manage. I handled them with a short walking break, which worked out just fine. In the past, that might have bothered me. Now I take it as part of the process.
The run wasn’t perfect, but it didn’t need to be. What matters is that I got out there and pushed past that inner resistance again.

It was really frustrating. Just when I had finally started to find my rhythm again after the long break, I caught a stubborn cold. And just like that, another four weeks passed without a single run. It’s exactly that moment when you realize how quickly you can fall out of routine again.
Today, I finally put my running shoes back on. The weather couldn’t have been better: 15 degrees, bright sunshine, clear air. The kind of conditions that make you wonder why you didn’t start again sooner.
Still, I took it easy on purpose. I set myself a simple goal of five kilometers, no pressure, no expectations. And that turned out to be the right decision. It felt harder than expected, and I had to take a few short walking breaks along the way.
But that’s exactly where I am right now. Starting again, step by step. It wasn’t a big run — but it was an important one.
